Headteacher's Message - Friday 3rd April

Newsletter pagesWe have reached the end of a term which has been unlike anything we have known before. At this time I’d like to thank all of our parents and carers for their support of the school.

I wrote a couple of weeks ago that we would aim to communicate with you more at this extraordinary time and we hope that you feel that this has been the case; further communication will follow today with our first “virtual” school Newsletter and a letter about how work and study will be organised after the Easter holiday. Please do read the Newsletter with your children as there is lots in it to digest and talk with them about; the messages from our Heads of House in particular are great. Unfortunately the “joke” in the Newsletter is very bad indeed and Mr Keeling is responsible for it.

As well as parents and carers, I’d also like to thank our students. I can only imagine what it must be like to be a young person at the moment and their patience, dignity and spirit are to be celebrated. The current situation is incredibly hard for them and as parents and carers we have to strive to listen to them, to support them, to entertain them and to keep them busy while balancing the demands of our own jobs and lives. As I wrote last week, none of this is easy but it has to be done. What I can guarantee every member of the school community is that, when we return, we will make sure that school life is busier than ever – there will be a lot to catch up on.
