All of our Year 7 students are receiving a 30-minute basic CPR training session today by a group of volunteer Community First Responders from South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.

They have received information about the heart and how it works, learnt CPR on a dummy, and looked at a defibrillator.

Students have asked some great questions so far - one point to go away with is: do not be afraid of using a defibrillator. The machine will instruct you on exactly what to do, and it will not shock a heart with a rhythm.
