Our SEN Forum was set up two years ago to offer support and information to families of students with Special Educational Needs.

We meet termly and the agenda is set by Forum members. Last year's themes included: a session delivered by our Educational Psychologist on self-esteem, an in-depth briefing about the Year 9 Options process, and a 'Welcome Meeting' for Year 7 families.

Parents and families involved have found it helpful to share triumphs and challenges with others, enabling the group to become mutually supportive.

This year's first forum meeting will take place on Wednesday 10th December at 5.30-6.30pm in the SEN Department. The SENCo, Helen Monaghan, will discuss Government changes to SEN and the new Code of Practice. A plan for the content of future meetings will also be made.
