Literacy is a hugely important part of our students' learning and progress. In order to help to raise the importance of good literacy standards we are using a literacy marking code across the school and in all subjects.

The marking code means that students can easily identify any mistakes in their literacy and understand clearly how to correct them. We also use the term WP (word power) on the marking code to reward students for any creative or effective language choices. There is a copy of the marking code in students' planners and it is clearly displayed in all classrooms to ensure that students can fully access the codes and use them to help improve the quality of their literacy.
