It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Liz Worsell, who was a much-loved colleague and teacher at Wallingford from 1992 to 2011.
She was a committed teacher of RE and English and spent the latter part of her career on the Senior Leadership Team. She had many formal responsibilities but saw her principal one as looking after people and ensuring everyone had their fair share of fun. Liz was the first to spot if someone was struggling and was equally quick to ensure something was done to help them.
Everyone will have their favourite among the many memories of her joy for life. A strong one is the enthusiasm she had for telling everyone how she achieved a childhood ambition to work as a cowboy (sic) on a ranch in the American West this year. Hers was a very full life until the very end.
Liz loved her partner Rob and her family very much and our thoughts are very much with them. It is a huge loss, but being alongside Liz was a great privilege as well.
