Introduction
The Blackstone Library is situated above the modern 6th Form block at Wallingford School.
Our library is open to all students and can be used for homework, research, revising and reading.
The library provides essential resources to support the curriculum, develop literacy and research skills, and we actively promote reading for pleasure.
It is very well stocked with 12,000 fiction, non-fiction and reference books.
The Reading Cloud is our library computer system, and it provides information on all our books as well as access to over 11,000 educationally approved websites. All students and staff have an account on this system.
There are eight PCs with internet access all connected to an A4 colour printer. These are issued for student use at break and lunch time.
The library is open throughout the school day (08.35 -15.05) and is managed by Mrs Saunders (Monday-Thursday) and Ms Hanley (Friday).
The library has events and activities throughout the year to encourage and promote reading.

Lending is available from the library, despite our reduced circumstances.
All students can visit the library at break and lunch time, Monday to Friday. Please use the Sixth Form entrance.
- Students won’t be able to view the complete selection in person at the moment, but your librarian will be able to browse the catalogue for you and reserve a book.
- Alternatively, browse our online catalogue in school or at home at https://u010607.microlibrarian.net/ prior to reserving. No need to log in, just use the search box.
- We’ll deliver a reservation notice to the form tutor when the book becomes available.
