Please note, to be eligible for this scheme, you have to either have received free school meals at any time in the last six years, or be from a family with an income less than £30,000 per year.

The Nuffield Research Placement Scheme is designed to inspire Year 12 students by giving you the opportunity to work alongside professionals in the area you are most interested in. Unlike normal work experience placements, we arrange bespoke research projects for you which are hands on and contribute to the work of the organisation. You are individually mentored and have help to write a full scientific report at the end of your placement. In addition, you are reimbursed your travel expenses and if you are eligible for our bursary you receive an additional £100 for each week of your placement. This is a really prestigious national scheme and highly regarded by universities as it gives you an opportunity to add a unique worthwhile experience to your personal statement.
