Year 7 and 8 students have been invited to take part in a New Year Challenge to complete our 20mileathon. Students can complete at least a mile a day by walking, jogging, running, hopping, three legging and other innovative modes of self powered transport. The mile course will be open every lunch time in January (weather permitting) allowing everyone to complete their 20miles. Students will receive a merit for each mile they complete and there will be prizes for the individuals and tutor groups who complete the most miles (including the opportunity to send your teacher to remove for the afternoon!).

We are asking students to seek sponsorship for the challenge and all money raised will be put towards the forthcoming Nasio Trust trip to Kenya in February. The Nasio Trust supports a series of children's centres in Kenya and Tanzania for children whose lives have been affected by HIV and Aids. A group of our year 10 and 11 students have been fundraising for the opportunity to spend a week at one of these centres providing support for the children and their families. Sponsorship money can be pledged at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/wallingfordschoolnasiotrust.
