"Liddy and I spent the evening of Thursday 18th December at the Merchant Taylors' Hall in London for the Annual Doctors' Dinner. At the beginning of the evening, we met students from fellow schools affiliated with the Merchant Taylors' livery company, to listen to the keynote speaker Jude Kelly OBE, the Artistic Director of the Southbank Centre. After a drinks reception, we sat down for a lavish four-course meal in the Great Hall. The food and drink was very impressive, and we talked to the people around us of all ages - sharing school experiences with fellow students, and conversing with former holders of high profile positions in society. Also amongst the highlights were a musical interlude from Oxford a capella group Out Of The Blue, and the unusual 'Loving Cup' ceremonial tradition. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening, and we are both very grateful to the company for allowing us to experience this fantastic occasion."
