We had a lot of very happy Year 11 students in school Wednesday, when they opened their iGCSE English results from the exams they sat in November. A fantastic 88% of the whole year group gained A*-C grades, with 33% gaining A or A* grades: a set of results that will once again put the English department and Wallingford School students in the very top few percent of the whole country for progress made. These results reflect an awful lot of hard work by students and teachers and will give everybody a great deal of confidence as they approach exams in all subjects this summer. Of course, students still have the opportunity to sit their English exams again in the summer and we expect many to use their November result as a springboard for even greater success then. For those who didn't quite achieve what they were hoping for, we now have lots more capacity to give them all the support they need to get there in the summer. In the meantime, we are all enjoying seeing so many students with such broad smiles on their faces.
