A message from Alice Wilby, Director of UK Recruitment and Partnerships at Oxford Brookes University:
As you may be aware, as part of our regional commitment to the local community, Oxford Brookes University offers a Scholarship for up to two students from each state-maintained school in Oxfordshire, as well as students from Abingdon & Witney College, Bridgwater College, Brooklands College, City of Oxford College, Reading College, Banbury and Bicester Ruskin College, Solihull College, Swindon College and New College, Swindon.
To qualify for the Scholarship the student must have the ability to meet the University’s offer and demonstrate one or more of the following:
- Being a successful role model to other students
- Showing a commitment to study
- Having the potential to succeed
- Overcoming of personal or social difficulties
- Engaging in the community
Students must complete an application which includes a supporting teacher reference. The nomination form can be downloaded from the Community Scholarship webpage. Applicants must return completed forms to The Community Scholarship Administrator, Schools and Colleges Liaison, Directorate of Corporate Affairs, Oxford Brookes University, Headington Campus, Oxford, OX3 0BP or via email to communityscholarships@brookes.ac.uk before Wednesday 29 April 2015.
Depending on the uptake of the scheme, the University may consider more than the allocated scholarships from a single institution where equally deserving cases are put forward.
Please note: In order for the students to receive the Scholarship they must firmly accept an offer from Oxford Brookes University.
