With nine weeks until the first of the two GSCE Maths exams, we are delighted with the way our pupils have risen to the challenge of preparing themselves. Throughout the Easter holiday they have a great opportunity to continue this good work.
To help support their progress over the two weeks, your son or daughter will have been provided with various revision activities to complete.
In addition to these, we would like to draw your attention towards two online resources which we feel will help complement the revision they do.
The first is Mathswatch (www.mathswatchvle.com). This is a resource of short video tutorials and questions covering every element of the GCSE course.
The login details are:
Centre ID: wallingford
Username: school username
Password: school username
A user guide of this resource is attached.
The second resource is the PiXL Maths App (mathsapp.pixl.org.uk). This is a extensive interactive questioning tool, again covering every element of the GCSE course.
The login details are:
School ID: WF425
User ID: school username
Password: school username
Once logged on there are a variety of resources including 'Take the challenge' where pupils should select the appropriate grade. Pupils can also watch 'therapy' videos and complete questions on topics. All questions are marked so pupils receive instant feedback. In the homework tab there are 'Walking talking mocks' where pupils are talked through exam questions.
We hope you will support and encourage your son or daughter with their Maths revision and that they return to us in April with excellent understanding and a real sense of success.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me on ramsayj@wallingfordschool.com
With thanks
